DANIEL DOMOVIĆ

Daniel Domović was born in Zagreb on July 10, 1987. He earned his bachelor’s degree in computing at University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in February 2010 with the theme “Training of Artificial Neural Network using Particle Swarm Optimisation Algorithm”.

 

He earned his master’s degree in computing in July 2012 at University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing with the theme “Visualization of algorithms based on evolutionary computing”.

 

In February, 2013 he began with his Postgraduate doctoral study at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing under the mentorship of Assoc. Prof. Tomislav Rolich, Ph. D. (University of Zagreb) and Assoc. Prof. Marin Golub, Ph. D. (University of Zagreb). His doctoral thesis research field includes the application of heuristic algorithms on solving the strip-packing problem.

 

From January 2011 until September 2012 he was employed in Croatian academic and research network - CARNet where he worked as a PHP developer of a national e-learning system “CARNet Moodle” and as an associate in Service for Educational Technologies. He has been involved in conducting workshops and webinars, e-course development and competition organisation.

 

 

His academic career began at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Textile Technology in September 2012 where he is currently employed in the Department of Fundamental Natural and Engineering Sciences as a Junior Researcher. He has been an active researcher on a national scientific project "Evolutionary Algorithms in Environmental Electromagnetic Loading Optimization" (117-0000000-3254) in a period from 2012 until project finish in 2013.

 

At university studies he has been conducting laboratory practices in courses: Applied Computing, Computer programming, Computers in business, Computing and Computer Language for Design.

 

His research activity and interests include evolutionary computing, heuristic algorithms and application of algorithms on real world problems. His professional interests also include application of e-learning in university level education.

He has written 1 scientific conference paper with international peer-review and 1 professional paper.

 

His professional skills include programming in C++, HTML, PHP, MySQL, MSSQL ActionScript, Javascript and MATLAB. He is experienced in graphics editing with GIMP, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and CorelDRAW. He can speak, listen and write in English (B2 level) and German language (A2 level).
