Application of Mathemathical Modelling and Intelligent Algorithms in Clothing Construction

Zoran Stjepanovič was born on January 2nd, 1958. He owns academic title of associate professor and scientific-research title of senior research associate. He is currently employed at the University of Maribor, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Maribor as associate professor. His previous working experience include: MTT, Tovarna tkanin Melje, Maribor, Slovenija, where he worked as plant engineer (8. 05. 1983 – 30. 04. 1985); University of Maribor, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Maribor, where he worked as researcher, senior lecturer (1.05.1985 – 31.08.1998) and Svila d.d., Maribor where he worked as process manager (1.08.1998 – 30.09.1999).

His research areas and interests include computer graphics, 3D scanning technologies, human body modelling, construction of textiles and garments, visualisation of products and processes in textile engineering, mechanical textile technologies, machine learning, e-learning. He has the following managerial functions and capabilities: deputy of the head of the Institute of Engineering Materials and Design (UM - FS), head of the Laboratory of textile technology and computing in textiles (UM - FS), head of the research group for textile mechanical processes (UM - FS), president of the Slovenian Association of Textile Engineers and Technicians and Slovenian Textile Association (2002-2009). He has been a leader or member of teams of numerous international and national research projects.

As a visiting professor he has worked at the following foreign universities: Ghent University, Department of Textiles, Technologiepark-Zwijnaarde, Gent, Belgium, B; Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, Villach, A; Istanbul Teknik Universitesi, Tekstil Teknolojileri ve tasarmi Fakültesi, Istanbul, TR and Cologne University of Applied Sciences, Köln, D. He participates in the following professional committees at home and abroad.
